In an effort to support the SEAC4RS 2013 mission NCAR is providing several products to supplement nowcasting and forecasting efforts...

NOWCASTING:
1. Cameron Homeyer has made real time NEXRAD radar composites available for nowcasting available Here
or in the links table below under 'Real time / near Real time Radar:.

2. Real time locations and flight tracks of the DC-8 and ER-2 are supplied in placefile format for the GRLevelX software in the
GRLevelX Position/Track Placefiles links section below under 'Real time GRLevelX Postion/Track Placefiles'.

FORECASTING/Weather_Discussions
1. The previous day's synoptic pattern is made available Here or in the links table below.
Images are CONUS GOES IR satellite imagery with composite radar, 500 hPa geopotential heights, and surface frontal positions overlayed.
Images are in 30 minute intervals. There is also a movie link available that shows the previous day's weather in .mov format.
The movie runs in 5 minute resolution.

2. Position and flight track information is being made available in real time for the ER-2 and DC-8 in placefile format for use in GRLevelX
software. Links to these files are available in the table below.
